Kea belongs in the Prefecture Cyclades near Athens abstaining one hour with the boat from Lavrion. Its name is owed by the hero Keo of Naypactos that occupied the island. Beacause of the local dialect its name changed to Tzia. When someone reaches the island will be impressed by the rich and rare vegetation. Tzia is famous for the forests of royal oak which are also unique in Cyclades. You can find also on the island many types of herbals, aromatic plants, and many wild flowers. Moreover in Tzia you can see the rich fauna which includes many wild animals as rodents, reptiles and birds. As we walk in the island we can admire its architectural wealth in the traditional rural residences or differently "Kathikies".

Tzia is a small island but beacause of its rich history and culture it allocates a lot of sights. In the capital of island is found the Archaeological Museum where are entertained discoveries of prehistoric settlements and departments of ancient temple of ancient city Karthaias. Also the building in which is accommodated the Town hall of island constitutes sample of neoclassic architecture, opbs and the old school of island which was drawn by the German architect Ernst Ziller. In the northern department of island is found the Citadel in which we find certain departments from the temple of Apollo and the Medieval Castle. In the Eastern department of "Ioylida" is found the eminent Lion and in southly-eastern beach is found the remains of ancient city Karthaias.

The coasts of Tzia keep pace with the wild morphology of island. Most of them as Kaliskia, Greasy, Sykamia and Kalydonychi are approached or by paths or by earth-roads. A few of them are organised such as Otzias, Koyndoyros, Poisses and Gialiskari, and this is what makes the island remain intact from the tourism. Common characteristic for al the beaches of the island is the clear blue water.
